For those that don’t know me, I’m Joan Pahisa, I’m one metre tall and I’m in love with sports.
Since I was a child, I’ve practiced all kind of sports. First basketball at elementary school, then I started swimming at a competitive level and finally, for the past ten years, I’ve been playing table tennis. In the meantime, I’ve also had the chance to practice other sports like badminton, volleyball or just recently paddle.
In table tennis is where I’ve had better results. I trained for two years at a High Performance Center, I’ve played several Spanish National Championships for disabled people, winning indivual and team medals, and I’ve represented the Catalan National Team for disabled people on International Competitions.
All my life, even though I’ve competed both with disabled and non-disabled people, I’ve never had the chance to play against people with my own disability. Well, never except for once at the 2005 World Dwarf Games that took place in Rambouillet, France.
Going to these games was a life-changing experience, both concerning sports and social life. This year the games will be held in the USA and I don’t want to let this opportunity pass. That’s why I’ve created this crowdfunding website, to ask for your help to cover travel and lodging expences, both mine and, if there is enough, for my coach.
If you want to know more about me or the Games, you can have a look at the rest of the site or you can contact mi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your help!
